Destination: Domaine De Grand Pré
Domaine de Grand Pré is located along Nova Scotia’s Evangeline Trail in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, an area famous for cultural diversity and charm with both its natural beauty and wonders. Situated at the headwaters of the Bay of Fundy’s Minas Basin, this area has a rich history and is home to the world famous tides that rise to 54 feet.
At the Grand Pré National Historic Site—a mere stone’s throw away from our property—stands the church as a memorial to Acadians who were exiled from their homes and farms in 1755. The site also features a statue of Evangeline, the Acadian heroine whose spirit inspired Henry Wordsworth Longfellow’s famous poem, “Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie.”
Domaine de Grand Pré is only three kms from the charming town of Wolfville and is a convenient and scenic one hour drive northwest of Halifax.
